In Death Masks, Dresden got a tip from Ulsharavas that the Churchmice have the Shroud of Turin on a small vessel called Estranger. Dresden went to Burnham Harbor where the ship is docked to investigate. He watched and Listened for a while.[1]

Dresden boarded the vessel and almost got the Shroud until Anna Valmont got the drop on him with a gun. Harry tried to talk Ana and Francisca Garcia into giving themselves up, Harry intended to hand them to the Knights of the Cross for their protection, he didn't say so, since they didn't know about the supernatural world and let them think "police".[2]

That is when Deirdre, a Denarian attacked. Dresdenbluffed her that the Shroud was in the frig, he picked up his Blasting rod, then Deirdre escaped. Harry tried to leave with Anna after the Denarian put a hole in the ship's hull, but Valmont hit him over the head and left with the Shroud. Dresden took the name of the Marriott Downtown Chicago Hotel off of a paper pad and left. The ship sank soon after.[3]
