A core member of the Chicago Cultural Alliance, a consortium of 25 ethnic museums and cultural centres in the Chicago area, the museum exclusively focuses on the history, culture and arts of Native American people.[Footnote 1]
The Museum's collections range from the Paleo-Indian period through the present day. Permanent exhibitions depict the cultures the northern continent.[Footnote 1]
