  • If the introduction to "Zoo Day" means anything (haven't read the story yet), there might be an explanation for why Peace Talks is going to come out Mab knows when. Maggie Dresden is going to put the cogs of the series out of kilter big time!

Gonna enjoy "AAAA Wizardry" first and fix its pages, then "Zoo Day"!

    • I read the intro of Zoo Day but have been reading White Night. He seemed conflicted about wanting him to be a Dad but not wanting to change him radically for fear of fan backlash. I don’t think it’ll rock the boat too much, Butcher can’t afford it.

        Loading editor
    • Only, he plainly states the boat will have to be rocked. A lot. Well, we'll see. What's gonna happen, is gonna happen.

Darn, I forgot how much work has to be going in this wiki. A day, and I'm barely done with AAAA Wizardry!

    • I feel you. My home Wiki, & my global responsibilities around FANDOM, have also faltered considerably with school hitting me; lotsa things to do & FANDOM can soak up what little time you have fast.

  • I resigned my bit as b'crat and admin. I think there are three reasons for this: #1) after one year and a half hard work, there is still no community to speak of; #2) while I can deal fairly well with layout, I'm not particularly good at adding content; #3) User:Crouchbk's incident - that was a serious lapse in judgement on my part, particularly since I'm not interested in dealing with comic books.

I might, or might not, come back. Brief Cases will be out in a little more than a month - let's see if my staying away from DF wiki for that long will improve things.

    • Oh, oh dear. I think you’ll soon find that you were still her backbone here, I simply don’t have the time necessary to dedicate to this Wiki. I’ll do my best to look out for it & to write scripts when I can, but all you have to do is ask & I’d be happy to restore your rights.

    • Have a nice wiki break 🙂

    • Thanks. I do need a break. :)

If the past is any indication for the future, I don't think there'll be any trouble. It's not impossible for me to be back, should activity pick up, and help with formatting, but for the moment I'll appreciate the change in scenery.

  • any merit on these?

If you've read the comic books, of course. Even though I've indicated to Crouchbk a more workable (I think) way of doing it, I might have blundered in.

EDITED: http://dresdenfiles.wikia.com/wiki/Yoshimo?diff=prev&oldid=22900 seems to indicate Crouchbk is right, and that I did blunder in.

    • Shouldn’t be a big deal, it’s an honest mistake, whether he sees the apology or not.

I would say to ask Staff just to be safe. I emailed Butcher’s editor asking about the graphic novel images ages ago & she redirected me to some corporation that owned the rights to the imagery, hadn’t managed to get a response from them. I can try again if FANDOM say Fair Use won’t cover it.

    • What would the page be like? Structurally.

        Loading editor
    • Have frankly no idea, yet, except that it might be something like a miscellanea collection.

There's a lot of material, much of it posted between 2006 and 2011. The apocalyptic trilogy dates somewhen in that range. The latest posts I've seen date on December 2017, so I think that the site has been waning since 2011 or so, and has definitely waned now, unless JButcher goes back to full-time DF writing.

  • and still no increase of active editors above background noise - I do think we're chasing something that's not there: the fan who's willing to help. DF appears to be in a very curious situation: a successful series and no community to speak of.

    • Freaking depressing 😞 Nevertheless we still must do what we can, I’m still reading through for those refs & hopefully once I’m caught up on school backlog from when my ISP was down I can at least get to work on scripts in earnest. Maybe the spotlight won’t work, but there’s nothing for it but to try every avenue.

    • Right about that. Only sin about it is not trying.

  • I've been working, slower than I'd like, on the refs in Harry Dresden's page.

I've drawn a blank on three statements:

    1. The lede states Harry being 37 in Changes. It's not in the book.
    2. It's implied in the page that: a) Soulfire either helps regenerating the body of the user, or it regenerates itself, because the soul regenerates itself; b) Harry loses the use of hellfire in favor of soulfire. They should be in Small Favor, but I failed to find anything. "a" can probably be found somewhere later, but can I ask you for help about "b"?

    Thanks!

    • A is in White Night ch. 43 & Small Favor ch. 46; Bob confirms that the soul itself regenerates. I skipped ahead to Cold Days ch. 32 where Harry expounds on the nature of Soulfire (“soul” being the entirety of your self, thus using it is putting your entire identity into a task) & it doesn’t invalidate Bob’s statement that you can “run out” of soul & that it does grow back.

B I will keep looking for; it’s probably mentioned when Harry briefly summarizes what Soulfire is upon first using it in a given book, perhaps in Turn Coat or Changes. Will keep reading thoroughly so I don’t miss it.

  • Not sure what happened, but Template:WPI and Template:Icon don't seem to be rendered in the pages they're in - the templates are still there, but I don't see anything in their usual top right spot on pages.
