The Ik'k'uox, also called the Ick, is a large creature of unknown origin. It was first mentioned in Changes.

DescriptionEdit

The Ik'k'uox was huge, the size of a bull and had a stench. It had an odd body that could move on two or four legs equally. Its flesh was spongy black like the true skin of a Red Court vampire. It's features were a mix of human, jaguar, crocodile or wild boar. It was completely black everywhere, even its eyes. It had malformed shoulders and a thick, almost intangible neck. It had a heartbeat like a big drum. It can leap thirty yards in one bound. It made no sound when it was injured.[1]

In Changes, the Ik'k'uox was sent by the Eebs to Rudolph's house to kill off a loose end. Harry Dresden was there on a stakeout to gather information from whoever showed up to get Rudolph. Harry ends up fighting it with help from Thomas Raith, Mouse and Molly Carpenter and her "one-woman rave spell". Thomas and Mouse double-teamed it, injured it and ran it off.[2]

Later, the Eebs brought it and a team of vampires to attack the Chicago FBI building aiming to kill Harry, Susan and Rudolph.[3] The Eebs, the Ick and the vamps all follow Harry and Susan as they escape into the Nevernever landing in the Erlking's Dining Hall. The Erlking decrees a trial by combat. The Ick is chosen by the Eebs to fight for them. Harry killed it.[4]
