Ardian-2

Harry tearing away Bianca's flesh mask with a pocket full of sunshine.

A Flesh mask is a sheath of skin worn by Red Court vampires in order to pass for humans. It is first mentioned in Storm Front.

Description[]

During times of intense emotion, the vampire's true, bat-like body can be seen wriggling under the surface of the mask.[1]

Older vampires may use this flesh mask as a shield against the sun, allowing them to walk around in daylight without being harmed.[2]

In the series[]

Storm Front[]

In Storm Front, when Harry Dresden threw the image of sunshine at Bianca St. Claire who was about to attack him, parts of her Flesh Mask were torn off when she hit the old table and shelves.[3]

B is for Bigfoot and Bombshells[]

In B is for Bigfoot and Bombshells, Svartalves also are capable of using flesh masks to disguise themselves.[4][5]

Death Masks[]

In Death Masks, Duke Paolo Ortega removed his true arm from its flesh mask and drew a hidden weapon, thereby cheating in the duel against Harry Dresden.[6]

Changes[]

In Changes, flesh masks are in use by the Eebs when they are hunting Harry Dresden.[7]
