Dodge City is the seat of Ford County,[Footnote 1] and has been an Old West[Footnote 2] frontier town, whose claim to fame include it being a stop in the Texas Longhorn[Footnote 3] and Wyatt Earp having been a prominent lawman in the city.[Footnote 4]
