I wanted to ask fans of the series if anyone else has noticed the foreshadowing hinted at tied to Harry's birth; it seems to me that his birth date is supposed to be a rare confluence of events that gives him unique powers; however there are 8,000,000 people in average who share anyone's particular day of birth. So stay with me here, there are 8,000,000 "starborn"(colddays Mauve) divided by 24hours = 333,333 people born in any particular hour, divided by 60seconds = 5,555 on any specific second of that day. My question is, why do none of these 8 MILLION other people matter to the balance of the forces at play?
6,000,000,000 people on earth, divided by roughly 10,000 white counsel recognized wizards = 1/600,000 people will be born with enou…Read more >
Pretty much what it says on the tin. Unless I change my mind, I do not plan it to be an article. Rather, all credits go this timeline on the Jim Butcher forums, which is in great parts copied here, but I think is inaccessible to some or if you don't have an account. It is also impossible to save the original timeline on the web archive, so this blog post also serve for recording purposes in case the original timeline get lost somehow.
Without further ado, a timeline trying to list the events in the Dresdenverse in chronological order. This timeline will try to harmonize the events from all the mediums that tell the stories of the Dresdenverse, so long as they are canon, things that happen in the story as it goes, things that have come to pa…Read more >

Hello! My name is Steve, obviously. :3
So I've been a fan of Dresden for a while, now. While I love reading the books, I also love writing original characters and roleplaying within particular universes I take interest in. Urban fantasy? Heck yes!
So I looks around Google and, to my surprise, I don't see a Dresdenverse Fanon anywhere.
On the drop of a hat, I'd go in and build one straightaway. However, loneliness can be a terrible thing after spending time and brainpower on something meant for others to enjoy.
So, I'd like to know if people on here and/or fans of the Dresdenverse from across the Interwebs would like there to be a central place for fanfiction, original characters, and roleplaying in the Dresdenverse. I'd also like to know if…Read more >

After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn't all that bad. Because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago's only professional wizard.
He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn't about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long. And now, her word is his command, no matter what she wants him to do, no matter where she wants him to go, and no matter who she wants him to kill.
Guess which Mab wants first?
Of course, it won't be an ordinary, everyday assassination. Mab wan…

The Laws of Magic governing the wizards were created and are enforced by the White Council. If a wizard breaks one of these laws they are now classified as a warlock. The primary use of these laws is to protect humans.
- Thou shalt not kill by use of magic.
- Thou shalt not transform others.
- Thou shalt not invade the mind of another.
- Thou shalt not enthrall another.
- Thou shalt not reach beyond the Borders of Life.
- Thou shalt not swim against the Currents of Time.
- Thou shalt not seek beyond the Outer Gates.
I think I would would like to get rid of the law prohibbiting swimming against time. That could make for a much different series. It could be interesting to see how that changes Harry's adventures.
Which of these laws do you think limits Harry the mo…Read more >
Whenever a book is turned into a movie or television series people will always compare it to the original work. Although the two mediums are very different in what they offer and the restrictions they have, there will be two camps: fans and critics.
I must admit that when you have become the lover of a book series and it is put on screen, it is hard not to be nit-picky about the details that you have imagined. Rather than the thousands of imagined Harry Dresden characters the directors have characterized him in a single way. Some viewers love him, some hate him.
A large portion of the television series audience were deterred from criticizing the protagonist because of Paul Blackthorne’s good looks. While some were appalled that he had short …Read more >
I'm vying for the right to say "I made the 365th article on the Dresden Files Wikia!" Too snobby? Oh well, it's only 3 articles away, though I would never mind if ElbeFluss got it instead. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised, since they are God here.

Ate cake, had no classes, and was given Turn Coat by a friend. God bless them!
Thanks to ElbeFluss for editing pages, and all else you do here. I think this can shape up to be an awesome Wikia, given enough time. 358 articles! Woot!Read more >
Seriously? In all honesty, what makes it so great? Okay, this is a retorical question, kind of. We all know what an amazing series this is, but why is it so awesome? Why is it that, after twelve books, people are still reading this and continue to love it? I would love to hear some opinion, personal, education, or otherwise.
